WHAT WE REALLY THINK ABOUT THIS VENUE
The Eight is an institution when it comes to Chinese Weddings in Sydney. Located in the central hub of Chinatown, it is a convenient location for public transport and is a rare location in the city that actually offers complimentary parking. The venue is designed for events and is highly flexible in terms of room configurations. Service is what we'd describe as "friendly in the Chinatown way". It is the kind of venue that is perfect if you prefer something more casual rather than formal, and just want your friends and family to enjoy an excellent and very filling Cantonese style feast with lobster, topped off with a dance party. Being in Chinatown, there are plenty of ceremony locations many of which within walkable distance. 

OUR TIPS FOR THIS VENUE
* There may be some Event Weddings recommended inclusions and additions for this venue before booking.
* Chinese restaurants are primarily NOT function centres or hotels, and coordinator/operations roles generally included with western venues are expected to be done by wedding planners or arranged by the clients
* Suppliers unfamiliar with this venue may find working in this venue challenging, and some local industry expectations in Sydney generally, may not apply
* Some Cantonese/Chinatown unspoken rules apply. Unfamiliarity with Chinatown rules can cause conflicts
* Always allow for a 10-15% buffer for incidentals
* Tips may be expected in Chinese venues
