For most couples, the wedding venue is the most expensive part of the wedding planning process. It is important to choose a venue that is suitable for you and your guests. After planning 1000 weddings and gathering a great deal if knowledge about Sydney's best venues, we are proud to provide this free service to help you get started.

1. WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE!
We're not here to sell you a venue. We don't work for any venue or base our business on earning commissions. Instead we're on your side to help you find a venue that is most suitable for you based on venues we know. We aim to understand what you envision for your wedding, find out what is important for you and show you venues based on your requirements.

2. WHO KNOWS VENUES BETTER THAN US?
After hosting over 1000 weddings, we are Sydney's experts in venues. As wedding planners, we follow couples throughout the planning process are more deeply involved in venue coordination than any other wedding supplier. We also know more about how each venue compares with others because of the number of venues we have been to. We may be able to show you photos, videos, floor plans, and provide valuable information.

3. WE AIM TO SAVE YOU TENS OF HOURS OF RESEARCH TIME
Finding a venue is a very time consuming process. We expect couples to save 20-30 hours of research through this 45 minute wedding as we share with you our experience from over 1000 weddings.

4. HIDDEN GEMS OF SYDNEY
Not every venue has the budget to be listed on Page 1. We have gone out to find a number of hidden gems in the city that just might be perfect for you!

5. HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT THE "OTHER"COSTS?
We will help you think about potential other costs that should be factored in such as parking costs, additional travel time (as you have to pay your suppliers on a hourly basis), additional costs required to use in-house equipment, any fees charged for using external suppliers, additional technical or styling items that are required in some venues but not others, and various fees venues or suppliers may charge based on the venue

6. SEE REALISTIC PHOTOS AND WALKTHROUGH VIDEOS
It can be hard to tell what a venue is really like just by looking at professionally shot venue photos. In this meeting, we may be able to show you photos, floor plans and exclusive realistic walk-through videos.

7. GET PRICE ESTIMATES AND TIPS ON HOW TO GET THE BEST PRICE
We may be able to provide rough price estimates based on previous events, and tips on when and how you can get the best price, such as seasons, times where discounts apply, and suggestions about the best time to book. For example in some venues, the minimum spend requirement between the lowest rate and the highest rate is over four times!

8. WE WILL HELP YOU COMPARE VENUES
Each venue is different, each have it's own pros and cons and all packages have different prices and inclusions. There are many things to consider, and by understanding your priorities, we can work with you to sort out all the different priorities.

9. NO HIDDEN MARKUPS OR COMMISSIONS
You'll get impartial advice from us because we make no hidden markups or commissions. We are a clients-side supplier and recommend venues based on what we think is most suitable for you based on previous experience. After this meeting, you can ask us to book this venue for you, or you can book this yourself.

CASE STUDY 1: A couple was about to book a certain venue, and we told them that before they booked they must check on a certain additional cost which they did not factor into their budget. The cost which they assumed to be several hundred dollars turned out to be close to ten thousand dollars which substantially changed their wedding plans and venue choice.

CASE STUDY 2: A couple was about to book a venue, it was a budget venue and their budget was reasonably good and it does not reflect the kind of wedding they should have. This was because they overestimated their budget costs by threefold. By knowing their full day timings and their budget, we were able to recommend to them a much better venue and their wedding budget ended up being over $10,000 less than their intended spending.

The venues service is a 45 minute video chat or in-person chat to help you find the best wedding venue. Our knowledge comes from the wealth of knowledge from 1000 previous weddings, aiming to replace at least 20 hours of normal research time that you might need.

1. UNDERSTANDING YOUR NEEDS
First, ask you questions about what your plans are for the day, preferences for the types of venues or catering, number of guests you're expecting, the dates and time of day you're considering, as well as your estimated budgets.

2. PROVIDING LIST OF RECOMMENDED VENUES
We will then show you a list of venues that we think may be suitable based on previous events held, and the information that we may be given. We will then show you photos, videos, floor plans, portfolios, menus and other information about the venue and explain which boxes they tick based on your requirements. We can also provide a rough idea of how much to budget for this venue based on information from previous events, as well as an estimation how much you may be spending on services based on the venue you have selected.

3. OPTIONAL VENUE VISIT
If suitable, your wedding planner may invite you for an optional venue visit for selected venues on the recommended list. We may organise a venue visit for you or point you to our network salesperson at the recommended venue to assist you.

Yes, we don't make any hidden commissions or markups on venues, so why do we do this for free?

Before we pioneered the Free Venues Service, we were like every wedding supplier. Suppliers don't take you seriously until you have found a wedding venue and have a wedding date. In one particular month, three couples came back telling us that they have now found their venue and whether we're ready to chat, and then we discovered that they didn't choose a suitable venue, they didn't request for certain things, and there were substantial additional costs they didn't factor in. This ended up causing these couples major problems in planning. Unfortunately they didn't know, because no one told them about it. This was when we decided that we are in the best position to help couples with finding wedding venues.

Venue prices, packages and other information are regularly updated. As part of our venue service, we often help couples request for the official venue information files, which gives us an opportunity to keep up to speed with the latest.

Our couples are often our best researchers and tell us new things that we don't know about. We love that we can learn from each other in this process!

The final agreement with the venue is between the client and the venue directly, Event Weddings is not a party to the contract, and it is up to the client to exercise due diligence, read and understand all the terms, and consider their own circumstances when selecting a venue.
